Get your wool socks fellas! We goin tubing!

That’s right! This THURSDAY, we tube! There will be NO YOUTH this wednesday because this thursday night at Snow Valley we’ll be tearing up the hills on inflatable donuts. The total cost including cost is $11.30, plus your own transportation. It’s gonna be sick, so bring your friends, bring your family, leave your dog.

Next on the menu: TRIVIA TIME

First person to correctly answer will get a sweet prize. Last week the prize was a cd. Next week’s prize is a camel. What will this week’s prize be? Be the first to answer to find out.

As you know, the young men and women are going through a special message series for the next several weeks. Round Two!

That guy didn’t come to youth last week. So we sent ”Tiny” to send a message

 We have some awesome new things going down this week, that you are not going to want to miss. Or else. Be sure to show up at 6:30, and please enter through the side doors. We’ll have sports going on in the gym, bracelet making in the boardroom, and maybe something going on upstairs?

Now we all know you should be bringing your friends with you every week, but especially this one! Some heavy stuff is coming down the pipe, and we have our new massage series starting! I’m not giving anything away, you’ll have to come and see!

March Break Missions:

To all of the Sr.Highs going to toronto on the march break trip, you need to bring a 50$ deposit THIS WEDNESDAY. If not- Tiny will come and ‘collect’.

On that happy note, in 2 weeks, we shall TUBE! 

Jan 26, Snow Valley, 6:30-9 pm. The cost is $11.30. We will not be providing transportation though- that is something you will need to organize yourself. Get pumped.

Kick Off!

 2012 Kick Off Night! Bring it!

 This Wednesday! It’s going down! Bringing in the new year at Sixthline Student Ministries. We are bringing alot of new things to the table that you are not going to want to miss out on. Show up at 6:30, the evening wraps up around 9.
Bring your friends! We had around 70 people come to the Christmas party! Lets make that the norm. We want this place packed, so bring your people, and we’ll take it from there.

Something else to think about: Courageous! This film comes from the same production company that brought the hit ‘Fireproof’. Courageous is being brought to Stayner BIC (our church) through Christian Radio Life 100.3. Come out Saturday night at 7pm with your folks and fam, $5 at the door, and snacks will be sold aswell.

Snow Tubing!

That’s right! Jan 26, at Snow Valley we will be tubing it up! 6:30-9pm. Cost is $11.30. Get pumped. More details to come.

The next youth night will be JAN 11. Be there.

However there is still plenty to get involved in until then.

On December 21 (this wednesday) we are going Caroling to 3 different nursing homes in one night. Show up at 6pm at the Huronia guest home, after that we go to the Stayner Nursing home, and finally we wrap up the fanatical festive festivities at Blue Mountain Manor. Here’s the thing though- we are not prepared to transport 70 teens. You need to have our own transportation, so just bring out the whole family.

Be Sure to come out to the Christmas eve and Christmas Day services happenging at the church! The Christmas eve service is at 7:30, and the Christmas day service is going down at 10:30.

JAN 14= Courgageous! up! Stayner Bic will be hosting the movie Courageous! Be sure to show up! Life 100.3 will be here aswell. Doors open at 6pm, movie starts at 7.$5 Admission.

 

Attention to all Sr.Highs who have expressed interest in The March Break Urban promise toronto mission trip. We need a 50$ comfrimation deposit the first night back to youth (Jan11).

As for anyone not going on the trip, we’ve got some sick stuff coming down the pipe-don’t worry.

Christmas Party

It’s Going Down this Wednesday! 

6:30-9 pm. Christmas Party!

 I Found these amusing and decided to share them with you.

Just a couple of reminders about the Christmas Party this Wednesday

  • Guys wear a shirt and tie. Stay Classy
  • Ladies- Up Do (ask yo momma for help if needed)
  • Bring a $5 Gag gift (Pre Wrapped)
  • Show up at 6:30 at the SIDE DOORS
  • Bring friends! This is a DUB Night, so we want double people

This night is going to be a blast. The dinner is being served buffet style, and items on the menu include (but are not limited to) scalloped potatoes, meatballs, and apple crisp.

This verse strongly states the reason for Christ’s coming, not for egg nog and Rudolph, but actually as a divine resue mission. Our society has perverted Christmas as an excuse to momentarily satisfy our lust for materal possesion, so in your Devo’s this week take some time to go throught the Christmas story, and look through the old testament to see what prophesies Christ fulfilled in his birth.

Refuse to Compromise!

This Wednesday is the final message in the Power Surge series. We are bringing all of this together and setting the stage for your launching into your homes, schools, neighbourhoods and communities with the firm armour of God strapped firmly. Ray will be talking about how it is absolutely critical that we Refuse To Compromise when we are tempted not to live out, or share our faith. This is the CLIMATIC finish to this powerful and life changing series.

It’s going to be sick. We’re rolling out a huge BUFFET (I mean huge), having a gift exchange, and busting out a fantastic evening. Check it: Fellas- Shirt and tie. Stay classy. Ladies- Rock a UP-DO with your hair. If you need help, ask yo momma. Also everybody needs to bring a 5$ Gag Gift (fully wrapped) for the gifts exchange. This is going to be a Fantastic finish to the 2011 Sixthline Year. BRING AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. This is a Dub night, so we are planning for double attendance. Watch out for Disease

Ray’s back this week, and he’s going to be speaking about Watching out for Disease.

It ties in with lasts week’s theme of ‘Progressive Sanctification’. Disease can spread quickly, unnoticed and undetected. If we aren’t engaging in regular ”çheck ups”, we don’t notice untill it’s already being destructive to us. Heavy Stuff coming down the pipe, get stoked.

Time for some weeding…

The Topic of this week is Media descernement

   

 

This week we’re going to be looking at what God’s word says about media, and how this applies to our life in Christ. Get ready to unpack the term ‘Progressive Sanctification

In preparation for this weeks message check out Phillipains 4:8. This will be the key verse for the evening.

Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Now a couple of announcements:

  • Youth starts at 6:30. The doors open at 6:30. That means if you show up at 6:00, you will be out in the cold for half an hour, so please don’t show up crazy early because nobody will be here.
  • When you come at 6:30, please enter through the side doors and not the front. There will be signs and tazers to remind you if you still come to the front.
  •  Worship!  Our youth worship team will be rocking the place this week! Get pumped! I’m really looking forward to it!

  • Bring your BIBLES! Nuff said. If you bring it, there will not not be prizes (Let’s see if anyone get’s that)

  • Bring a friend! We have empty seats, extra food, extra fun!

It’s Bingo Night!

Old People. Gott love em’

Played checkers lately?

Cheeks still sore from the last time Grandma grabbed them?

Well get ready for some more! We’re going in Boys! (And girls).

This week we’re taking youth to the Seniors! Blue Mountain Manor! Just a great opportunity to love on these people, it’s one of the highlights of their year. We’re going to show up, hang out, play board games, bake cookies, and just chill with the people.

 Maybe some freestyle rapping and breakdancing?

This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, because as believers our faith isn’t just what we can get, but what we can give. It’s amazing what can be learned just by sitting down and having a conversation, and it makes a HUGE difference for them just having somebody to talk to.

Now for the dirty details. We’re gonna be there from 6:30 – 8 pm.
